South Central, Los Angeles–The Plant Plug Los Angeles offers educational workshops, public speaking events & is the first outdoor curbside plant nursery in Los Angeles, producing home grown organic seedlings & succulents.

They can be found at pop-up shops all over Los Angeles County throughout the Spring, Summer & Autumn.

Anyone can make an appointment via phone to visit the mini farm in South Central Los Angeles.

Currently, the Plant Plug is hosting a fundraiser to directly support three Women ran organizations that keep fresh organic food available and affordable in Los Angeles County.

•Project 43 is “365/ 7 day a week” non-profit food pantry and community space, which provides educational workshops and food/ clothing.

•Pacific Blue Organics is a non-profit that facilitates free produce distribution, fills community fridges with fresh juice & provides the community with trees directly grown from seeds.

On July 10, The Plant Plug gave away almost 100 plants to the Los Angeles community. The Plant Plug is delivering the remaining 200 plants to local gardeners, community projects and plant enthusiasts.

Message from Taylor Lindsey of The Plant Plug:

Hello,

The Plant Plug™️ strives to educate and connect our community to Urban Farming and Gardening in order to establish food sovereignty and reconnect to local sources of fresh food. This fundraiser directly supports three organizations that maintain low or no cost access to fresh food.

The Plant Plug grows organic plants from seed and teaches gardening, Pacific Blue Organics is a Non Profit that facilitates free produce giveaways, filling community fridges. Lastly, Project 43 is a staple of South Central off of Crenshaw and Florence. This food pantry is open 7 days a week, providing fresh produce and personal goods.

I have made it my mission to eliminate food deserts in greatly undeserved areas by making organic produce accessible to all L.A residents. It is with dedication to this mission that I lead my team at the Plant Plug through botany education and garden development in your very own backyards, porches, and balconies.
