University of Florida Black Students Removed From Graduation Stage For Dancing Too Much

“All expressions of Blackness were under attack.”

“There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the University of Florida, where a marshal decided to end the celebration of several black students during graduation by forcing them off the stage. A student’s biggest dream is to walk across the stage during their school’s commencement ceremony; getting rushed off the stage is not. As students were called up to receive their diplomas, some decided to perform a quick celebratory dance. But a faculty member didn’t find the performances to his liking, and forcibly rushed the graduates off the stage.”
