On the most recent episode of the Geto Boys podcast, Willie D has a conversation with cohost Scarface, about Willie D not being included in the performance of “Mind Playing Tricks On Me” during the Grammys’ Hip Hop 50th anniversary tribute

Fellow Geto Boys member Bushwick Bill died in 2019.

Ultimately, Willie D is upset at the Grammy’s and their disrespect in inviting Scarface to perform a song that he cowrote, while not including him.

Prior to the podcast discussion, Willie D took to social media and made a public announcement over his dissatisfaction with the Grammy’s.

“How in the hell are yall going to have a 50th year tribute to Hip-Hop and not include Geto Boys the group? How are yall going to use a performance that includes a song that I cowrote but not even have the decency, the respect to reach out to me and ask me did I want to participate?”

During the podcast discussion, Willie D asks Scarface why he did not at least inform him that he would be performing that song at the Grammy’s, to which Scarface responded, “It didn’t cross my mind.”
