Nipsey Hussle Was Set To Meet With Top Police Officials Prior To Murder

South Central, Los Angeles–The day before rapper Nipsey Hussle was set to meet with top Los Angeles police officials to discuss ways to stop gang-violence in Los Angeles, he was gunned down at his place of business on Slauson and Crenshaw.

LAPD police commissioner tweeted the news after Nipsey’s murder Sunday afternoon.

The meeting was orchestrated by Roc Nation’s co-founder and CEO Jay Brown. It was to include the LAPD Police Commissioner as well as the chief of police.

News reports state that Nipsey’s family and Brown wanted to attend the meeting but Nipsey’s family were too distraught due to his sudden death. The meeting has now been postponed.

Nipsey, born Ermias Asghedom, was 33 years old.

He leaves behind a fiancé and two kids, a sister and brother, his parents, grandmother, as well as a slew of Eritrean family members.

Police have released information on a suspect and will hold a press conference today at 8:30 a.m at LAPD headquarters.
