Los Angeles, CA–Emiel Hunt was arraigned in a Los Angeles Courtroom today for the death of 9-year-old Trinity Love Jones, whose body was found stuffed in a duffle bag along a trail in Hacienda Heights. Both Hunt and the mother of Jones were arrested Sunday.
In 2005, Hunt was convicted of torture and child abuse and spent nearly a decade in prison for the charges.
Prior to the announcement of their arrest, Trinity’s father Antonio Jones, took to social media and publicly blamed Hunt for the death of his daughter.
Jones held a brief press conference today before the arraignment, where he stated Trinity was in a better place. He abruptly walked off camera, however, when reporters asked him if he knew how Trinity’s death could have been prevented.
According to ABC 7, Hunt was arrested on Saturday March 9 after investigators found him sleeping in his vehicle, which was parked in a lot near San Diego International Airport, sheriff’s investigators said.
