Riverside, CA–The Westcoast Hip-Hop community is mourning the death of 43-year old Jamarr Stamps, who is commonly known by his stage name, Bad Azz. His exact cause of death is unknown, but he is reported to have died while in custody at the Southwest Detention Center in Riverside California.
The Long Beach native was being held on a $10,000 bond for domestic violence, according to reports. Bad Azz was in custody four days prior to his death.

Bad Azz is known for his 1996 collaboration with 2pac on the song Krazy, off ‘2pac’s The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.’
Bad Azz is also affiliated with Snoop Dogg and the Dogg Pound. After his death, Snoop Dogg, along with Ice-T and Daz Dillinger, posted their condolences to Instagram.
According to the Long Beach Post, In a statement spokeswoman Deputy Robyn Flores said correctional staff performing a security check at 5 a.m. Monday found Stamps alone in his cell in need of medical attention.
“Deputies immediately summoned medical staff and life-saving measures were performed on Stamps,” Flores said. Paramedics arrived shortly after and continued the measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner will determine the cause of death.
“There are no signs of foul play surrounding Stamps’ death and the investigation remains ongoing,” Flores said.
