Windsor Hills, Los Angeles–A bail review hearing is scheduled Monday for Nicole Lorraine Linton, a nurse from Houston accused of running a red light and speeding into a Windsor Hills intersection. The high speed car crash caused a fiery chain-reaction crash that killed six people, including a pregnant mother, her infant son and her unborn baby.
Linton is charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
The names of two of the victims who were killed in the Windsor Hills crash have finally been revealed by family members as Lynette Noble and Natesha Lewis.
There was no evidence Linton was drunk at the time of the crash. Her past driving record has come into question, as it was revealed she had been involved in 13 prior car crashes.
One of Linton’s attorneys, Halim Dhanidina, told the judge that the defense is conducting an investigation into her mental health issues, and said he didn’t believe there was anything to justify treating Linton’s case equivalent to a capital murder case.
Dhanidina said $300,000 was more reasonable bail for Linton to post, compared to her current $9 million bail.
Deputy District Attorney Brittany Vannoy urged Superior Court Judge Natalie Stone to order Linton jailed without bail, saying Linton is accused of “traveling at an excessive speed” and proceeding through the intersection despite a red light.
Linton could face up to 90 years to life in state prison if convicted.
