Carson, CA–An 157-acre lot that has been vacant in Carson for 50 years, will now be developed into an “premium outlet mall.”
“The Los Angeles Premium Outlets mall is expected to open with 400,000 square feet, followed by an additional 166,000 square feet. The mall will take advantage of the property’s positioning west of the I-5 corridor and south of the I-10 Freeway, according to a release from developer Macerich,” (CBS LA)
The project is being celebrated as bringing jobs to Carson and is expected to be completed by 2021.
The joint venture is being developed by retail developers Macerich Co. and Simon Property Group Inc. Their 50-50 partnership will lease and develop the property, to create a “state-of-the-art” premium mall in Carson.
Construction will begin immediately and the project is expected to open in 2021. The site is close to the I-10 Freeway and not too far from the new Rams stadium being built in Inglewood.
