South Central, Los Angeles— Today a fence was put up around the Marathon Clothing Store. A statement released by Nipsey Hussle’s Clothing brand, reveals the fence is up, so that the early stages of development could begin on Nipsey Hussle Tower.
A month before his Assassination, Nipsey Hussle was featured in Forbes with his business partner and real estate developer David Gross. They revealed they purchased the property for “a couple million” and had plans to redevelop the plaza.
“Within 18 months or so, they’ll knock everything down and rebuild it as a six-story residential building atop a commercial plaza where a revamped Marathon store will be the anchor tenant,” (Forbes).
Gross is the protege of billionaire real estate developer Don Peebles, the most successful African American man in real estate. Peebles was recently selected to build a billion dollar project in downtown Los Angeles.
