Fight Between Police & Civilians On Huntington Beach Results In 5 Arrests

Huntington Beach, CA—Five people were arrested and two officers were injured after a fight broke out on Huntington Beach last night. Around 8:00 p.m police say they approached a woman who was drinking on the beach. Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the beach.

In that moment, police relay being attacked by those who were with the woman.

The US Open of Surfing was also happening on Huntington Beach at the time. Police say the brawl was not connected to the US Open event.

Only minor injuries were sustained by the officers and one went to the hospital for his injuries but is expected to recover.

According to the Huntington Beach Police log, several Black youth around the ages of 19 and 21 were booked for obstruction and resisting a police officer.
