West Hollywood, CA–The mother of 26-year-old Gemmel Moore, who was found July 2017 inside the home of a “wealthy political donor” named Ed Buck, filed a wrongful death suit today against Buck. The lawsuit also accuses the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office of racism for refusing to prosecute Buck because he is white.
LaTisha Nixon went public after Moore’s death, warning the public and authorities that Buck was a serial predator. Moore’s journal was released back to her, along with the rest of his belongings from authorities after his death.
In the journal, Moore details his experiences, which included Buck injecting him with meth. At the time of Moore’s death, there was various drug-like substances scattered around the apartment, noted by the coroner.
Buck is said to have predator like tendencies and seeks pay for play activities via gay dating sites such as Grindr. In addition to him liking to deal with Black men, they are usually HIV positive and in financial binds.
An investigation was launched into Moore’s death, but was silently closed a day before the year anniversary of his death.
Today, activists also delivered thousands of petition signatures to the District Attorney’s Office which demand Buck be prosecuted not only for Moore’s death, but for the suspected overdose death of Timothy Dean, 55.
Dean was found dead in Buck’s apartment Feb. 8. Autopsy reports have not yet been released into his death.
