Los Angeles, CA—The funeral for 24-year-old Ryan Twyman will be held tomorrow beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Ryan was shot and killed while in his car in an apartment complex on 132nd st and Wilmington near Compton.
Police released video footage following the shooting, which they say shows Ryan used his “vehicle as a weapon.”
A warrant had been issued for Ryan after police raided his home, where they say weapons were recovered. Police were tipped that Ryan frequented this apartment complex and while he was parked in a parking stall June 6, police pulled into the parking lot in a marked Sheriffs vehicle.
In the video released by police, you can see a Sheriffs deputy approach the rear passenger door with his weapon drawn.
The fact that the deputy opens the back door of Ryan’s vehicle, with his weapon drawn, makes a lot of people question the procedure police were using when attempting to complete this arrest.
A town hall meeting was held last Thursday at the MLK Center for public health in Los Angeles.
The meeting was headed by Black Lives Matter Los Angeles and attended by various members of Twyman’s family, including his sisters and girlfriend, who is also the mother of his children.
Over 100 people, some who were still in their work clothes, came to show their discontent over the continual killings by police in the South Central, Watts and Compton areas.
