Los Angeles, CA–By Friday you will be required to wear a mask when going to stores in Los Angeles due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Workers Protection Order is to further ensure the safety of essential workers during the pandemic.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced this week that employee’s and civilians must wear face masks when going to perform essential duties such as grocery shopping.
Across the country there have been an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in grocery store and public transportation workers.
Coronavirus: California issues state-wide ‘stay at home’ order
California Governor Gavin Newsom enacted a “stay at home” order for the entire state of California at least until Apr. 30. The date can be extended depending on containment levels. California was among the first US states to set state wide restrictions.
Newsom estimates that at least 40 million people in California will contract the virus if measures are not taken to “flatten the curve now.”
