Gardena, CA–Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputies shot and killed 18-year-old Andres Guardado, this week in Gardena and are now claiming that he was in possession of a handgun.
The owner of the auto body shop where Guardado worked as a security guard, however, says that Guardado was running away after cops pointed their guns at him.
LASD Alex Villanueva told people to not buy into “conspiracy theories” on social media regarding Guardado’s death by Sheriff Deputies, saying that it was too early to determine what led to the shooting.
Although tomorrow is Father’s Day there is a protest planned at 2:00 p.m as the community begins to rally and demand justice for Guardado.
The march will start at 414 W. Redondo Beach Blvd, Gardena, CA
and end at the Compton Sheriffs Station.
The march is organized by @uniondelbarrio and the Guardado family.
The City of Gardena also released this statement regarding the shooting of Guardado.
“He was a good man,” Jennifer Guardado, the sister of the victim, said. “He was gonna make it in life. He was gonna make it and become a good, professional man in life, but they took that away from my family and me.
“My parents are completely destroyed. We’re all dead already inside,” (CBS LA).
