Los Angeles, CA—The first annual Goddess Community Park Day will be held tomorrow at Jackie Tatum Harvard Park starting at noon until 6:00 p.m.
The event is hosted by Tymera Finley, owner and designer of the fashion brand House of Mera.
The community park day is designed for children and their families. Kids will be provided with face painting, goodie bags, prizes, as well as performances from special guest.
“I want to encourage young girls who look up to me, to follow their dreams. In my community there has been so many deaths, and just so much negativity within this community. My main thing is to shine light in a place that is filled with so much darkness,” says Tymera.
The event is co-sponsored by Chapter Two inc, and vendors including Love & Grub Catering and Shaunies Cupcakes will be catering.
Walk Game Shoes has also provided shoes for the kids. One aspect of her community park day that Tymera is most excited about, is the Tommy the Clown Performance.
“When I was younger I tried to go try out for Tommy the Clown but I was really, really nervous. This time around I was like, why not get him for my event? I’ve always really wanted to work with Tommy the Clown, I just didn’t know that I would be working with him on this level.”
Events like these are important to Tymera because it allows her to pour back into her community that she loves. Since launching her clothing line, it has been family and community that has allowed her passions to thrive.
House of Mera is envisioned to be a one stop shop for all your fashion needs. The pieces the brand offers range from active gear to sleepwear. House of Mera also provides stylish pieces for the grown and sophisticated woman.
With her community behind her, Tymera has stepped into her purpose, and she encourages all women to become Mera Goddesses.
“A Mera Goddess is a woman who is fearless, gentle and confident. I want to encourage young girls to follow their dreams and go after exactly whatever it is that they want.
I want all kids to understand that even though you come from here, you don’t have to become a product of your environment.”
