[dropcap]O[/dropcap]ne of my favorite Tupac interviews is this one, where he is promoting his first studio album 2Pacalypse Now.
If you think about it, out of all Tupac’s discography 2Pacalypse Now is one of the least mentioned albums when people discuss Tupac–although the album holds some of the most powerful tracks discussing the state of Black America.
Released in November 1991, 2Pacalypse Now illustrates the mindset of Black-Panther raised Tupac and his ability to analyze and break down the American system. The album offers Tupac’s view on contemporary social issues such as police brutality, crime in the Black community and racism.
“I don’t think that white people are devils. I think that there is evil and there is a devil everywhere. It can be Puerto Ricans, Black, whites, whatever. You gotta watch for evil. Tupac aint just about seeing a whole lot of Black people in one spot, because there is a lot of snakes out there. I want the good in Black folks.”
