Orange County, CA–As the mother and family of 6-year-old Aiden Leos held his funeral Monday, investigators made a huge break in the case that took the life of an innocent child along the 55 freeway in Costa Mesa.
One morning in early May, the Costa Mesa community was shocked to learn that someone shot a gun into a vehicle following a road rage incident. The outrage continued for more than two weeks, as police searched for the killers. It is now being reported that Marcus Anthony Eriz, 24, as well as his girlfriend Wynee Lee, 23, have been arrested in connection with Leos death.
Leos mother Joanna, was driving in Orange County May 21, when someone in a white Volkswagen Golf Sportswagen, shot into her vehicle following a disagreement on the road.

Eriz worked as an auto body technician at Platinum Collision Centers Dos Lagos in Corona, CA. He is being labeled a “gun enthusiast” due to several social media post of him shooting guns. He left his job back in January, texting his boss recently asking for to return. Eriz texted his boss that he now knows that the grass is” not greener on the other side.“
Lee, is described as coming from a middle class Taiwanese family, growing up in the suburbs of San Gabriel Valley. Some people have shown their disapproval at media attempts of provoking sympathy for Lee as someone who dealt with depression.
Along with her mugshot, a video of Lee was shown addressing her experiences with depression.
Following the shooting, as law enforcement launched a massive search for the killers and a reward of $200,000 was offered for information, Eriz and Lee knowingly STASHED the get-away-vehicle at his grandmothers home in Whittier. Eriz grandmother is said to currently be out of town.
Eriz did not turn himself in. Neither did Lee. They were both apprehended by police at a motel.
It is sad that the life of this innocent child was taken over someones inability to handle their road rage. Prosecutors have not yet announced charges but have said they will pursue a lesser charge for Lee.
“Lee had initially been booked on murder charges, which prosecutors decided not to pursue against her in favor of the lesser charges. Spitzer said the charges reflect her alleged behavior after the shooting, rather than during the events leading up to the shooting, when she was believed to be driving the car.
“We all agreed that with respect to Ms. Lee, the evidence supported a filing of her behavior after the weapon was fired, but not with respect to conduct leading to that event,” Spitzer said.” (ABC 7 L.A).
