Hacienda Heights–Yesterday members of the Hacienda Heights community held a funeral for Trinity Love Jones. Trinity, 9, was found stuffed in a duffle bag along a hiking trail in Hacienda Heights.
According to Trinity’s father, the community of Hacienda helped to coordinate her funeral.
Emiel Hunt has been arrested and booked for her murder. His is the boyfriend of Trinity’s mother, Taquesta Graham. Graham, 28, is currently on parole and wearing an ankle bracelet. She was booked on suspicion of murder earlier this week.
In 2005 Hunt, 38, was convicted in San Diego of child abuse on his biological son and spent 10 years in prison for the crime.
Graham is also a registered sex offender and was convicted in 2009 for trying to entice a minor into prostitution.
The two suspects were both initially detained at a border crossing in Texas on March 8, and Graham was arrested on suspicion of an unrelated warrant. Hunt was released and drove to back to California, where he was arrested the following day in a parking lot near San Diego International Airport, according to the release. (KTLA)
Diana Wilson, Graham’s mother, says that she reached out to Child Protective Services multiple times about the safety and well-being of her granddaughter.
In an interview with ABC 7, Wilson details that her daughter met Hunt in April of last year and she was concerned about the way he treated Trinity.
She says Hunt told the family that he spent time in prison for bashing another man’s head in. They were unaware that he had tortured his own son, who is allegedly in a wheelchair.
Trinity’s grandmother says that her daughter was living in a car with Hunt at the time of Trinity’s death.
