Los Angeles, CA–City Attorney Mike Feuer has decided to drop out L.A’s mayoral race and in turn, has endorsed Karen Bass. “This is a crucial moment in this campaign. We have to come together to solve the problems we are facing and bring about real change in our city,” Bass posted to her social media accounts, while thanking Feuer for his support.
Bass continues to heavily push in her campaign for Mayor, despite criticism by BLM supporters over comments she made about police budgets. This is interesting, because the L.A. Police Protective League are said to be spending nearly $2 million in independent expenditure funds to run ads against Bass’s campaign for mayor. They are attempting to label her as someone who is “soft on crime.”
Her biggest challenge will be defeating billionaire Rick Caruso, who was endorsed by Snoop Dogg today.
A mayoral debate that Bass participated in recently on the campus of Cal State Los Angeles, ended with BLMLA leader Melina Abdullah being drug off the premises, for attempting to stage a demonstration and not having a “ticket” to the event. BLMLA is not in support of Bass and are using their platform to push someone who entered the Mayor race by tweeting she heard the “left” was looking for a mayoral candidate.
