Los Angeles, CA--Los Angeles City Council President Emeritus, Herb J. Wesson Jr. will help to distribute over 200,000 diapers donated by the Good+Plus Foundation for families experiencing an economic crisis  due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While observing best practices–including keeping 6 feet of distance from others, wearing gloves and face masks– Council President Nury Martinez, Councilmember Curren Price, and Good+Foundation Director of National Programs Dr. Alan-Michael Graves will join Wesson in helping to distribute the diapers on Thursday, Mar. 26 at 10 a.m. at Wesson’s District Office (1819 S. Western Avenue).

The diapers are scheduled to be delivered throughout Los Angeles by various non-profit community organizations.

“Free diapers and baby wipes during a time like this can really make a difference for struggling families,” said Wesson.  “The money saved on having to buy diapers can mean more money for food for a household where one or both parents are not working at this time.  Baby wipes, like toilet paper, have been flying off the shelves and not always available for parents in need of them. I’m glad that my office can continue to be a resource to all communities during our collective time of need.”

Founded in 2001 by Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld, Good+Foundation is a leading national nonprofit that works to dismantle multi-generational poverty by pairing tangible goods with innovative services for low-income fathers, mothers and caregivers, creating an upward trajectory for the whole family.

“Council member Wesson has always been there for the community and I knew that we could partner with his office to get these diapers distributed and out to the people who really need them during this crisis,” commented Dr. Alan-Michael Graves, Good+Foundation Director of National Programs.
