West Hollywood–Serial Predator Ed Buck has finally been arrested and faces three charges of battery causing serious injury, administering methamphetamine, as well as maintaining a drug house, according to an L.A. County indictment.
The charges come after Buck is said to have injected a 37-year-old in his apartment with methamphetamine September 11.
Luckily, the person will survive, unlike Gemmel Moore and Timothy Dean who visited Buck’s house of horrors within the last two years.
Jasmyne Cannick, along with the family of Gemmel Moore, warned the public that Buck preyed on Black men who were experiencing homelessness and addiction.
Despite the support of the public and media, the cries for Buck’s arrest fell on deaf ears. Law enforcement and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office failed to arrest Buck, despite two dead bodies recovered from his house.
Moore’s naked body was recovered from Buck’s house in July 2017 from a methamphetamine overdose. 55-year-old Timothy Dean was found deceased in Buck’s apartment January 2019.
Soon after, his mother was horrified by what she found written inside her son’s journal. In it, Moore details Buck gave him his first injection of Crystal Meth.
After Moore’s death, a number of Black men have come forward detailing their experiences with Buck, who they say preys on vulnerable men of color and Black men in particular, who are struggling financially.

They also claim that Buck would pay them to inject drugs, and that he gets aroused sexually seeing how their body reacts.
“Ed Buck wants to inject young Black men and see how they can get sexually aroused. How much of the drug can I put into you, before you have a reaction, or death?”
Buck’s neighbors started a petition back in January, to evict him from the apartment complex. The building manager said that his boss tried to get Buck evicted after Moore’s death, but legally he was unable to, because Buck had not been charged with a crime.
“It has been known in the history of this country that white men don’t want to necessarily work with us, or live besides us, but they are ok with using us as sexual beings, as sexual products. As property.”
Prosecutors are asking that Buck’s bail be set at $4M. If convicted as charged, Buck faces up to five years and eight months in state prison.
The arrest comes after a Los Angeles Judge declined to throw out the civil case against Buck by Moore’s family. A court date was set for this week, but was pushed back due to the ruling.
“With this new evidence, I authorized the filing of criminal charges against Ed Buck,” Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Jackie Lacey said in a statement, adding that she is deeply concerned for those whose life circumstances make them vulnerable to predators,” (LA Times).
