Compton rapper The Game, is facing serious legal issues after his appeal was rejected last week. In 2015, a woman named Priscilla Rainey filed a $10 million lawsuit for sexual assault. The Game, born Jayceon Taylor, reportedly “did not respond” to the pending lawsuit and in turn, a jury awarded Rainey $7 million.
“The 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals found the rapper’s conduct to be “truly egregious.”

The situation started in 2015, when Priscilla Rainey was a contestant on Taylor’s VH1 reality T.V show, She Got Game. During the show’s filming, Taylor and Rainey went to a Sports Bar in Illinois, in a setting that was not filmed. According to Rainey, Taylor lifted her skirt and groped her vagina and buttocks.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rainey confronted him about it on camera (on a tour bus in front of other contestants) and in August 2015 sued for sexual battery.

The ruling was heavily influenced by Taylor’s absence from trial for an emergency dental procedure. A jury awarded Rainey $1.13 million in compensatory damages as well as $6 million in punitive damages. After an unsuccessful bid for a new trial, last week, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the courts ruling.
Taylor also unsuccessfully sued Viacom, alleging they failed to do an adequate background check on Rainey.
The jury also found Taylor liable of impeachment because he denied Rainey confronted him about the assault.
