South Central, Los Angeles–The shooting death of 29-year-old Dijon Kizzee in South Central by Sheriff’s has only deepened the wounds of police violence against Los Angeles residents. He was laid to rest this week at Angelus Funeral Home.
An autopsy recently revealed that Kizzee was shot 16 times after police attempted to stop him while riding his bike for code violations. Violations that were later revealed to be for riding on the wrong side of the street.

Kizzee’s death followed that of George Floyd which only fueled growing and consistent protest in Los Angeles. Attorney Ben Crump, Dale Galipo along with Carl Douglas have been retained in the case by the family of Kizzee.
Douglas says Kizzee’s shooting death by police is personal because he grew up on Denker, not too far from where Kizzee was killed.
