Yesterday a preliminary hearing was held for three defendants involved in the shooting death of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia.
Arbery was running about 1.8 miles from his home when he was confronted by father and son Gregory and Travis McMichael who were heavily armed with a shotgun and a .357 magnum in a white pick-up truck.
Although the killing of Arbery happened in April, no arrest were made until last month, when a leaked video relating to Arbery’s death began circulating social media.
The Judge ruled there was enough evidence in the case to move forward with trial.

The McMichaels were indicted on murder charges, along with another man, and William “Roddie” Bryan–who filmed the incident and was later arrested for being involved in the murder.
Arbery’s case bounced from several prosecutors in Georgia due to conflict of interest and is now being handled by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
