Last month I published an interview with a former Black LAPD officer who quit the department and filed a lawsuit, after being detained by officers by 77th’s gang unit, who refused to accept his identification as a fellow police officer.
I sat down with Mr. Robins for Comedy Hype + where we have a more in depth discussion around the issues of policing, his experiences as a LAPD officer, how modern law enforcement is rooted in capturing Black bodies via patrols during slavery, and so much more.
