Torrance, CA–Police shot and killed 23-year-old Christopher Deandre Mitchell last Sunday in a Ralphs parking lot in East Torrance.
Police say they were flagged down by a man who said that he saw his vehicle that was stolen two days prior, being driven in the area.
The car was spotted in Ralphs parking lot and police say that 23-year-old Mitchell was armed with a rifle and was ultimately killed by police.
Mitchell’s family contacted Black Lives Matter for support and a vigil was held in Ralphs parking lot yesterday evening.
Friends of Mitchell say he was homeless at the time he was killed by police.
Black Lives Matter relayed they sent a press release to local media about the vigil, however, there were no major news stations present last night.
