Update: Jacques Dshawn Smith Arrested For Killing Two Sisters in Texas A&M Commerce Dorms

Commerce, Texas—Authorities have arrested 21-year old Jacques Dshawn Smith for the double murder of his ex-girlfriend, 20-year-old Abbaney Matts, and her 19-year-old sister, freshman Deja Matts. Smith also shot Matts 2-year-old son, who survived.

Smith was arrested and released two days before the shooting, for domestic abuse against Matts. A police report filed the night Smith was arrested details he threw a lamp at Matts, as well as a T.V and hit her in the head with a pan several times–threatening to kill her.

Matts detailed she was only able to escape the beating when her brother arrived.

When searching his apartment, Police also found evidence linking Smith to a New Years Eve homicide.
