[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ormer President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama announced today that they have signed a multi-year deal with Netflix. They have also formed a production company, “Higher Ground Productions” to produce content. Netflix represents 49 percent of all streaming with 125 million subscribers worldwide. The Obama’s plan to produce diverse content that may range from documentaries and features to scripted and unscripted series. In a Netflix Press Release the Obama’s write:
“We hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the wider world.”
