Located on the corner of Crenshaw and Slauson across the street from future Hyde Park Station, “The Heart of Hyde Park” is a mural by lead artist Moses Ball with Dezmond Crockett and Amani Holbert with youth mentor Ms.Assata Umoja (HOPE).

Watch this video to learn how the mural connects mentorship, celebrates neighborhood stories and visually improves the first/last mile experience. The project was led by LA Commons with technical assistance from Metro Art and funding from Transportation for America. Community partners included HOPE (Hyde Park Organization Partnership for Empowerment), Park Mesa Heights Community Council and Los Angeles City Council District 8.
