San Pedro CA–Seven sailors aboard the USNS Mercy have been moved to an undisclosed location after testing positive for the coronavirus. The ship is currently docked at the Los Angeles Port in the city of San Pedro.

It is unclear how the sailors contracted the virus. According to officials sailors were tested before leaving San Diego Mar 23.

The USNS docked in San Pedro Mar 27 to help treat non coronavirus patients. The move was to help free up bed space at local hospitals in anticipation of a surge in coronavirus cases in L.A County.
