Nipsey Hussle Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame on His 37th Birthday

Hollywood, CA–Los Angeles rapper and businessman Nipsey Hussle was honored with a star on the Hollywood walk of fame today, on what would have been his 37th birthday.

Nipsey Hussle was dedicated the 2,729 star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

Chairman of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Lupita Sanchez Cornejo, was the Master of Ceremony, with Nipsey Hussle’s sister Samantha Smith, Grandmother Margaret Boutte and actress Lauren London as speakers.

Nipsey Hussle’s sister Samantha called the moment bittersweet, but also said that proud would be an understatement.

“Our conversations felt like church and every experience I had with you was love. You demonstrated to the family and to the world what it means to be a true leader, a hero and your dedication, hard work and patience prevailed.”

His father Dawit, brother Samiel and 5-year old son Kross were also present–along with many of his longtime friends and those on his All$In label.

Compton rapper YG, basketball stars Isiah Thomas, Russell Westbroook as well as Karen Civil also showed support.

“Nipsey was the love of my life, always very respectful. I miss him, but I look at his pictures and remember all the wonderful times we had together. I thank my daughter for blessing me with Nipsey. I love you and I miss you but you are close at heart always.”

Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame called Nipsey Hussle “more than a creative genius,” and said he was committed to helping his community through savvy business moves and charitable contributions.
