Man Caught In Police Crossfire In Compton Identified As Rickie Starks, 65

Compton, CA—A man caught in the crossfire between police and suspects in Compton has been identified as 65-year-old Rickie Stark.

Police found themselves in a shoot-out after attempting to conduct a traffic stop.

According to news reports:

The incident began when deputies from the Compton sheriff’s station

initiated the pursuit of a black Cadillac Escalade for suspected reckless driving or DUI.

Someone in the Escalade opened fire on the deputies with a high-powered assault rife and they returned fire at Spruce Street and Aranbe Avenue.

Deputies came under fire a second time in the 1900 block of 199th Street and returned fire.
