Cardi B (Belcalis Almanzar) attracted millions of followers on Instagram by making videos discussing her life as a stripper on social media with a no filter attitude.
She was then casted on Love and Hip-Hip New York. After leaving the show, she invested her own money into videos, touring and creating music. According to her, just when she was about to give up, her hit single “Bodak Yellow” blew up and seemingly catapulted Cardi into A-list superstar status and she has continued to top the charts ever since.
“Nobody got more out of the 365 days of 2017 than Cardi B. The Bronx native notched the first No. 1 record by a solo female rapper since 1998 with the anthemic “Bodak Yellow,” and has only continued her historic rise since. Bardi was one of the most hard-working people in the industry over the course of the last year, making appearances at almost every notable musical event, award show and festival across the country. ” (Billboard)
