[dropcap]S[/dropcap]ergeant Steve Perez, a 30 year veteran of the Houston Police Department is one of the people who has lost his life to Hurricane Harvey, which is now being classified as a Tropical Storm.

The Storm/Hurricane hit Texas late Friday night and has ravaged various parts of the state.

30 to over 40 inches of rain has caused many areas to flood. No evacuations were ordered prior to the Hurricane, leaving many trapped with water filling up their homes.

Many rescue missions have been deployed and various shelters have been established to assist families.

Among the people reported missing or suspected dead in Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey, is a family of six whose car was submerged due to rising floodwaters.

After the storm passes and water retreats, local officials expect to recover more bodies.

An official U-caring account has been set up by JJ Watt, a Defense End for the Houston Texans, to assist families affected by this disaster.

Rest in Peace to all who have lost their lives and prayers for all those caught within this catastrophe.
