Los Angeles, CA–An LAPD officer is in hot water after video footage captured him losing his cool and repeatedly punching a man over 20 seconds during an arrest.

According to the lawsuit,Richard Castillo lives in a tent in the 2400 block of Houston Street, a few houses down from where he was raised. His family also currently resides in the residence where he grew up.

The man on video, later identified as Richard Castillo, is now filing a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles.

According to the lawsuit filed this week, Castillo lives in a tent in the 2400 block of Houston Street, a few houses down from where he was raised. His family also currently resides in the residence where he grew up.

Body cam footage released by LAPD this week, shows moments prior to the attempted arrest on Castillo by two police officers. Audio kicks in a few moments after initial contact, but you can hear and see police tell Castillo he needs to leave what appears to be a closed field area on a residential street.

Castillo walks away with his bike, talking back to officers, but posing no physical threat. He gets halfway up the street and turns around taunting officers as they watch him walk away.

The officer who attempted the arrest has not yet been identified but is seen on camera walking towards Castillo and telling him to put his hands behind his back. Seconds later, the officer begins to repeatedly punch Castillo and shout obscenities.

Castillo asked the officer what was wrong with him multiple times, while attempting to cover his head from the punches.

“Witnesses and residents expressed disapproval to the male officer who responded by telling them to “shut the f— up,” “get inside” and “you are all idiots,” according to the lawsuit,” (NBC News).
