Los Angeles, CA–A 54-year-old homeless man was reportedly found on the steps of City Hall East today. Police received the call around 7:30 a.m.

Authorities have yet to issue an official cause of death, although city leaders claim the death was caused by natural causes.

The death comes as the homeless crisis in Los Angeles continues to leave city leaders at public scrutiny on what appears to be a ballooning issue, despite hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to address the issue within the last year alone.

“Sarah Ardalani, public information officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, said the deceased man was believed to be of Asian descent and in his 50s. She said the cause of death hasn’t been determined,” (The Los Angeles Times).
