Los Angeles, CA--Sachi Hamai, the outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Los Angeles County will receive $1.5 million as she prepares to retire from her role at the end of August.

The settlement was signed by County Counsel Mary Wickham after the L.A County Board of Supervisors allowed Wickham to settle on its behalf.

Private security is also agreed upon in the settlement.

Sachi sent a letter to L.A County Board of Supervisors stating she was concerned for her safety after clashing with Sheriff Alex Villanueva earlier this year. The Board of Supervisors has removed Villanueva as head of the county’s emergency operations center. They have also voted to cut the Sheriff’s budget by $162 million which could lead to at least 200 immediate layoffs.
