Donald Trump Holds Rally in Michigan Following House Impeachment

The house approved two articles of impeachment today against Donald Trump, making him the third president in U.S history who has received votes of impeachment.

Now, a majority Republican led senate will decide if Trump will be impeached in January. Media predict their decision will be to not move forward with impeachment.

The controversy arose over a phone call between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. A 2019 complaint by a Whitehouse whistleblower alleged that during the call, Trump sought out information against Joe Biden’s son, who up until recently served on the board of one of Russia’s biggest gas producers.

“Democrats say Trump used two levers to try force Ukraine to comply in what they described as a quid pro quo — an exchange of something of value in return for something else. One was the release of funding. A week or more before the call, Trump had directed the withholding of $391 million in military and security aid that Congress had approved to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia,” (The Washington Post).
