Celebrate Independent Book Day With Malik Books And Terry Crews April 30th

Culver City, CA–Independent Bookstore Day is being celebrated nationwide April 30th to highlight and support the efforts of independent bookstores around the country. Malik Books will be hosting a day of celebration that day from 12PM to 7PM. Actor, host and author Terry Crews will be in attendance from 5:00 p.m for a signing of his new book, “Tough: My Journey to True Power.” Over 20 local independent authors are located at Malik Books. This will be a fun day of storytelling, book signing, entertainment, giveaways and author discussions.

The event is free although it is strongly advised to RSVP for an exclusive signed edition of Crew’s book.

Malik Books is a Black-owned independent bookstore that specializes in African American books, calendars, and gifts full of cultural diversity.

Black-Owned Bookstore Malik Books Expands Despite Pandemic Challenges

Malik Books is located at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza and the Westfield Culver City Mall. Their new podcast Malik’s Bookshelf which is bringing the world together through books, culture and community is produced by Ryan Seacrest on iHeart radio. Malik Bookshelf streams all podcast platforms. In 2022, Malik Books launched Malik’s Bookmobile to continue outreach to promote reading and education.
