Found Safe: Brothers Michael and Makiy Burks, Ages 8 and 10, Missing From Van Nuys

Van Nuys, CA–The Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Area are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two brothers who went missing this afternoon. Michael and Makiy Burks are African-American boys ages 8 and 10.

The boys were last seen on camera about 4:30 p.m. leaving the hotel they were staying at in the 7000 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard and heading westbound on Vose Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Michael, 10, has stitches over his left eyebrow and is described as
Black, 4 feet, 9 inches tall, 50 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black shirt that read “Just do it” on the front, gray
shorts with orange lining, black shoes, a blue shower cap and a blue backpack.

Makiy, 8, is described as Black, 4 feet tall, 45 pounds, with black
hair and brown eyes, police said. He was wearing a red shirt, black shorts, white sands and a red shower cap. Anyone with information about their whereabouts was urged to call the LAPD’s Van Nuys Station at 818-374-1964, or during non-business hours, 1-877- LAPD-24-7. Those wishing to report anonymously can call 800-222-TIPS.
